send + receive seeking proposals for a site-specific work to be created for a landmark/structure in the historic downtown Exchange District in Winnipeg – The Cube. An unusual structure with it’s concrete interior and porous metal sheath, The Cube was designed to function as an open-air stage in the summer months and a unique metallic sculpture during winter.

send + receive radio has been on the air at CKUW 95.9 FM since August 2008. These years have seen our Director crys cole joined by an array of s+r alumni: Tom Kohut, Curtis Walker, Eric Larock, Fletcher Pratt, Robert Taite, Kelsey Braun, Alex Snukal and Cam Popham. The weekly show has been a blast and a great way of continuing the work that we do with the festival on a year-round basis. We are sad to announce that due to growing logistical issues s+r radio will be taking a hiatus. we’re not sure how long for but likely a stretch.

Join us this Hallowe’en, October 31 at the Tallest Poppy to relive the debauched and delicious golden days of Studio 54. There will be costumes, specialty cocktails, raffles for tons of goodies, and projections of classic Warhol (Paul Morrissey) horror flicks!

This years program features artists and works that all relate to the theme: Rhythm. Artists from Japan, Germany, the UK, France/Australia, USA, Sweden, Toronto, Montreal and Winnipeg will come together for a rousing and stimulating 4 days or performances, artist talks, workshops, screenings and installations.
