send + receive is an International festival that investigates the disciplines of experimental music and sound art, and is one of the longest standing media arts festivals in North America focusing exclusively on sound-based work. It presents an invaluable opportunity for showcasing the innovative work of Manitoban, Canadian and international artists. send + receive addresses the need for a critical and intimate platform for audio-based art locally, nationally & internationally. With feedback from the public, collaborating arts groups, and artists, send + receive meets the creative and technical needs of professional artists.

send + receive is a not-for-profit based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Treaty No. 1 Territory. 

We are looking to onboard a Treasurer as part of send + receive’s Executive Board.  

Term: min 2 year, renewable

Responsibility of the Treasurer

To ensure the custody of the funds and securities of the corporation and ensure the keeping of full and accurate accounts of all assets, liabilities, receipts, and disbursements of send + receive.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Board: 
Supports send + receive’s Director based on the identified priorities of the organization, including the following:

  • Advises on proper and organizational sustainability as a non-profit.
  • Play an active role in the Board’s evaluation and planning efforts, including review of bylaws and other policies to ensure they are up-to-date and observed.
  • Supports the organization to have the funds and human resources to operate; acts as co-signer for send + receive’s cheques, bank accounts.
  • Provide feedback on festival planning and programming in a strictly advisory role to the Director.

Having a background in accounting, bookkeeping, and/or non-profit boards is an asset.
