As a multi-venue festival and concert series, send + receive is committed to anti-oppressive practices and aims to create accessible and welcoming space wherever we program. We will work closely with every host venue and co-presenter to ensure the maintenance of a safer, accessible space for all artists, staff, and audience members, and pledge to work only with spaces whose policies align with our values.
We have a zero tolerance policy at all of our events for racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, or any form of discrimination or violence that is based on race or ethnicity, nationality, gender identity, language, age, physical appearance, disability, sexual orientation, religious belief, or socio-economic status. Sexual harassment, violence, and intimidation are unacceptable and will result in immediate ejection from any send + receive event.
We take incidents of discrimination and violence seriously and will do everything in our power to support survivors in equitable, action-oriented, practical steps toward conflict resolution, involving our board’s Equity and Community Engagement Committee as well as outside resources as necessary. All reports of any violation of the above policy will be treated seriously and confidentially.
